    With nearly 400 shows and tens of thousands of road miles now behind them, Railroad Earth has become a staple on the national touring and festival scene, and built a huge following of loyal fans that document and trade every note they play, and often join them on the road for multiple nights. These fans call themselves “Hobos,” and the band considers them to be the fuel that keeps this engine chugging along. Railroad Earth’s next album is planned for release in Spring 2004. Till then the band will continue to bring their music to the stage from East to West. So keep an ear to the ground and listen for Railroad Earth, because they'll be rolling through your town very soon.

    The debut on the band was on 18th January 2000, when Metharia won the festival "Le Quattro Notti Rock." In June 2003 they are one of the three winners of the "NMC festival,' in Marcerta winning the award for the best live performance.

    Armed with new jungle juice, they are warming up and ready to play. They opened up with a latenight show in Atlanta and continued on to Mountain View Jam Festival in North Carolina. Coast to coast, they'll be working their way to SummerCamp, Wakarusa, and High Sierra Music Festival.

Robert Griffith plays banjo and sings harmony. Rob drives the band with lightning fast fingers and great improvising skills. Rich Egan plays mandolin and does some vocals.     After fronting a couple bands in the mid 90s in California and spending the next several years developing his musical and songwriting talents in Japan and Minneapolis, Adam Lancaster landed in Denver in 2000 and founded the band. The band took on many formations and seemingly endless lineup changes for about a year until the perfect complimentary additions of Gregg Rosenthal (drums), Josh Eckhoff (guitar), and Matt Novack (bass, vocals) created a sound and style beyond what Adam could have hoped for. This new talented group immediately began writing songs and reworking old songs to create music and a performance that attracts and engages every listening audience. The personal and musical bond between each member deepened quickly and the dedication from everyone to develop the band to its fullest possibilities is evident.

Rock Werchter 2004 was four days of 80.000 visitors and 61 concerts on two podiums (main stage and pyramid marquee). As each year, the tickets were sold out very soon. In the very nick of time, I had managed to get a one-day-ticket and joint the last day of the festival. I was a bit disappointed, as I couldn’t see Lenny Kravitz, who was performing the day before. But the Sunday-program was great as well.

    Rodney Dangerfield (1921-2004) has died at the age of 82. For me, his character in CaddyShack was my favorite. I also loved Easy Money. Rodney had a rap video on MTV in the early 80's, on The Tonight Show over 75 times and made millions laugh out loud with his signature phrase "I don’t get no respect." His career in comedy didn't take off until after his 40th birthday. "After I was born I was so ugly... they slapped my my Mom in the face" -- Rodney was kind enough to donate this autographed tie for a recent Mimi Fishman Foundation auction.

The only term that really sticks with any consistency is instrumental, since, as the word implies, they only play instruments sans vocals. Other than that, they are a really tough act to peg. Psychic-Afro-dub-rock comes to mind as a possibility, but somehow even that doesn’t do the Toubab Krewe justice.

Vietnam SHOULD be the key to this election. The Vietnam era saw Kerry At his very best. Taking a principled stand against an unprincipled war. Does this apply to today right very f*cking now? We are to our horror in another unprincipled war.How could this happen?  Only through utter sophistry and utter failure of principle could we have gotten in such a war.  
 
Kerry needs to go back to his principled stand. We have no plan for peace in Iraq. We were lied to, baldly—everyone knew it was a lie from the very beginning.  Kerry to his shame voted with the sheep for this war. 
 
But he needs to position himself as the only person who could get us OUT of Iraq.  Kerry needs to demonstrate that Bush has caused more terrorism than he's prevented.  A train blew up in Spain, bombs in Israel, children in Russia.  Kerry needs to demonstrate that the ability to change your mind on an issue is an indication of sanity.  
 
Amazing, isn't it that in a city where a large portion of the workforce Had to stumble uptown in a choking cloud of white ash four years ago—that city turned out half a million people to protest the people in charge. 
 
We're reduced here, after being attacked, to not having any input as to who becomes president.  We can't impact this election.  We pay far more Taxes out than what comes in to our state to support our people, our 
people were attacked, and now our opinion doesn't matter.  No wonder people marched. 
 
It's all we can do.  This election will be decided by sixteen states, not me. So I, New York, am making a plea to all my dear swing states LIKE COLORADO  bucko, you guys better organize the sh*t out of the voters in your state. 
 
That's YOUR president guys.  We're trapped. We like getting your Sympathy cards for wives with dead husbands, deeply appreciated. But stand up for us in a material way. You don't need to send fire trucks or peanut butter sandwiches.  Just get this guy out of office.  Get him out. Our blood is sucked by the Zell Miller states in this country, while we bust our ass to manage the world economy, pressured, haunted by moronic social policy and a war in our name.  
 
Take Election Day off.  Bring everyone you know to the polls.
